The Surface Transportation Board today announced that, in the event of a lapse in appropriations causing the federal government to partially shut down its operations, all Board operations will be suspended. Accordingly, the STB will not:
--Accept or process filings by any delivery method;
--Receive general mail or electronic mail;
--Issue decisions; or
All deadlines requiring the submission of material to the STB during the pendency of the shutdown will be tolled. If you believe you have an emergency that requires immediate Board action (e.g., emergency service orders), please call 202-245-0245 and leave a message.
The Board's website and email will be unattended for the duration of the governmental shutdown.
